Canada is a prosperous nation in the continent of North America. It extends from the Atlantic to the Pacific and northward into the Arctic Ocean. The total area of this country is 9.98 million square kilometers which makes it the world's second-largest by total area and the fourth-largest nation by land mass. Its shares common world’s longest land borders with United States of America. Canada also known as Maple leaf country consists of ten provinces and three territories namely

  • British Columbia
  • Manitoba
  • New Brunswick
  • Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Nova Scotia
  • Ontario
  • Prince Edward Island

The Geography And The Weather

The Geography of this nation is unique and usually consists of large arctic regions. The weather of this country varies from region to region. It can vary from -40 degrees in some higher latitude regions to +40 degrees in some lower latitude zones but overall the weather is pleasant throughout the year with summers being mild and cold winters.

 

Demography

The gross population of Canada is 33,476,688, which is over 5.9 percent more than the 2006 census. In December 2012, Canada had reportedly a population over 35 million. The primary factor fuelling the population growth is inwards immigration of people from all across the world, and, to a lesser extent, natural in land birth rate.

 

Around 80% of Canadian population is concentrated within 150 kilometers of the United States border. Besides this,  4/5th of population resides in urban centers concentrated in the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor, the British Columbia Lower Mainland, and the Calgary–Edmonton Corridor in Alberta.

 

As common to other influential countries, Canada is also experiencing a sharp demographic shift towards an ageing population, with more and more people approaching retirement and fewer people of to replace them. The average age in this country is well above 40 years.

 

Social setup  

Even though the country is dominated by white Christian population (almost 77%) which speaks English or French (almost 80%) there is hardly any evidence of racial slur of any kind. There is sizeable presence of people and religious groups from other parts of world, namely

Canada is true market oriented economy with private to public property ratio of 60:40. The government has established a unique policy that extends highest levels of economic freedom to the people intending to do business.

 

As per the latest figures on unemployment (February 2013), the rate of unemployment is 7% and the economy is in the fast recovery mode since the 2007 – 2010 global crash. These factors make Canada a viable alternative for the families to immigrate and establish themselves in this country on any basis.
